A Day of Silence at Kindred Forest
Nourishing Peace
A Day of Silence
November 2, 2024
Join us for a pre-election day of mindful practice and forest bathing offered to support the caring and calming of the mind, heart, and body necessary for clarity to arise.

If you feel overwhelmed by the news, disheartened by too much unproductive conversation, or in despair about the multiple intersecting injustices ongoing in the world, this space is for you. We invite you to Kindred Forest to rest, reset, and gather strength and inspiration.

The daylong will be structured as a mostly silent day of practice, interrupted only by light guidance and times for deep group sharing. Designed for both beginners and those with established mindfulness and meditation practices, everyone is warmly welcome.

As an optional offering, there will be a nighttime sound bath and morning movement for those who may want to spend the night at Kindred Forest to extend their day of mindfulness.
Simple Practices for Touching Peace
Practices will include meditation, forest bathing, teachings from the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, deep relaxation (guided rest), and occasional sharing. There will be ample opportunity for unstructured rest on hammocks, journaling and walking in nature.

Overnight guests will have the chance to relax further with a beautiful evening sound bath.
Diana C. Parra, sound therapy practitioner, will guide you through a sound meditation/relaxation/healing, also known as “sound bath”. Sound is a powerful tool to reduce stress, pain, anxiety, anger, improve mood and increase a sense of spiritual well-being. Sound healing has ancient roots in cultures all over the world, dating over 40,000 years with aboriginal tribes and Tibetan or Himalayan singing bowl spiritual ceremonies. Sound healing is a form of focused awareness meditation where the experience manifests not only through hearing but through tactile physical vibrations and frequencies.
